1° giorno – FIRENZE
Arrival to Florence, dinner and overnight
2nd Day – FIRENZE
Full day guided tour of Florence: Santa Maria Novella Square and Church, whose construction began in the time of Dante, the Baptistery which in the nineteenth canto of Hell, Dante calls "my beautiful San Giovanni", Dante's House (now a museum) located in the oldest part of the historic center and the Church of Santa Margherita de 'Cerchi, also known as the Church of Dante. In this way you can experience the Florentine years of Dante, from youth to exile. Free lunch. Dinner and overnight.
3rd Day – POPPI and CAMALDOLI
Excursion to Poppi with guided tour to his castle where Dante lived for almost a year, during which, they say, has composed a canto of Hell. The castle stands on top of a hill overlooking the plain of Campaldino, site of the famous battle. Stop to Romena, quoted by Dante about the Mastro Adam currency forger and visit the beautiful Pieve. Continue to the monastery of Camaldoli (10 km) and guided tour of the Hermitage, cited in Purgatory. Free lunch. Dinner and overnight.
4th Day –GARGONZA CASTLE and MONTE SAN SAVINO
Full day excursion in Gargonza, a small walled village surrounded by nature in the Val di Chiana. Visit the Castle where Dante was a guest in 1303, soon after the exile and where he participated to the meeting between the Guelphs and Ghibellines exiled from Florence. Visit Monte Savino, located a few kilometers from Gargonza, well-preserved medieval town with a historic center and the beautiful church St. Augustine noteworthy. Free lunch. Dinner and overnight.
5th Day – SIENA
Full day excursion to Siena where, it seems, Dante lived for a few months. Guided tour of Piazza del Campo with the Palazzo Pubblico and the Torre del Mangia, the Cathedral, the Piccolomini Library, the Church of San Francesco, the Medici Fortress, Palazzo Salimbeni and Palazzo Tolomei. Free lunch. Dinner and overnight.
6th Day - FLORENCE
Breakfast and end of services.
