Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita
mi ritrovai per una selva oscura,
ché la diritta via era smarrita.
Ahi quanto a dir qual era è cosa dura
esta selva selvaggia e aspra e forte
che nel pensier rinova la paura!
(If., canto I)
Siede la terra dove nata fui
su la marina dove ’l Po discende
per aver pace co’ seguaci sui.
(If., canto V)
Ravenna sta come stata è molt’anni:
l’aguglia da Polenta la si cova,
(If., canto XXVII)
Tal qual di ramo in ramo si raccoglie
per la pineta in su 'l lito di Chiassi,
quand'Eolo Scirocco fuor discioglie
(Pg., canto XXVIII)
